Community Outreach & Animal Care Staff

Help connect Hill Country Humane Society with the people, businesses, organizations, and communities that make our lifesaving work possible. This role is ideal for someone who is outgoing, organized, dependable, and excited to represent HCHS both inside and outside the shelter.
Responsibilities include helping plan and attend adoption events, building community relationships, coordinating outreach opportunities, supporting promotions and special events, and engaging with adopters, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
This is still a hands-on shelter position. All staff work together to care for animals and keep the shelter running, which means helping with cleaning, feeding, enrichment, animal handling, adoptions, and other daily needs when needed.
We are looking for someone who can confidently talk to people, build connections, take initiative, stay organized, and jump in wherever the day requires.

Animal Care & Adoption Staff

Animal Care & Adoption Staff are a core part of lifesaving at Hill Country Humane Society. This role blends hands-on animal care with public interaction and adoption support, playing a direct role in helping animals move from shelter to home.
This position is active and fast-paced. Daily responsibilities include animal care, cleaning and sanitation, enrichment, dog handling, and working with the public during meet-and-greets and adoptions. Staff help guide adopters, answer questions, and support thoughtful, successful matches.

Contract Veterinary Technician
High-Volume Spay/Neuter · Vaccine Clinics · As-Needed Clinic Support · Day Pay
Hill Country Humane Society is looking for experienced veterinary technicians interested in joining our team on a contract, as-needed basis for high-volume spay/neuter days, vaccination clinics, and other community veterinary programs.
This is a great opportunity for techs looking to pick up occasional clinic days while helping provide affordable veterinary care to pets throughout the Hill Country. Work may include surgical prep and recovery, patient monitoring, vaccines, animal handling, medical documentation, cleaning and sanitation, and keeping a fast-paced clinic day running safely and efficiently.
Positions are scheduled based on clinic needs and paid by the day. Availability can be flexible, and there is no requirement to work every clinic.
